Current Loop Converter

Menlo's Current Loop Converter connects RS232 (EIA) devices (Macintosh workstations, PC's, etc.) to 20 MA current loop connections on Tandem Computer systems and other hosts.

NOTICE: Menlo no longer supports individual orders of the Current Loop Converters. Minium Order is 100 units.

• Size

  Is only .5 x 2 x 2.25 inches and weighs only 2 ounces

• Ease of Installation

  No need to cut cables, identify wires, strip insulation, or use special screw down posts. Plugs directly into a PC's serial port. Menlo offers customized cables for Macintosh workstation connectivity.

• Power

  Does not require an external power source -- no extra cables, wires or power outlets are needed.

• Baud Rate

  Tested to run up to 100,000 baud at 3000 feet. Most other converters peak at 9600 baud. Typical Tandem applications can run at speeds up to 19,200 baud.

• Compatibility

  Can be used for both DTE and DCE devices.

• Flexibility

  Easily adaptable to function as a gender changer and/or cross-over connection.
