Development Tools
- FOUNDATION Vista
Menlo's Foundation Vista is a business process data modeling design tool for individuals and work groups. It provides a desktop-based interface for process modeling, program structure design, and many other software engineering productivity tools. Vista supports data modeling for DB2, RDB, Oracle, Sybase, NonStop SQL, Ingress, and many other RDBMS systems. Vista also provides automated documentation via its graphical printouts and flexible reporting.
- FOUNDATION Gateway
Provides a high volume -- easy to use facility for connecting Client and Intranet applications to Transaction Servers. Gateway's low license fees and strong features make this the first and only choice in Middleware.
- FOUNDATION CME/SVR
Enhancement of Tandem's RSC for Windows environments. Menlo's alternative allows you to implement a single version of RSC in a way that allows your application to be deployed to any Windows environment without additional development work and without addition RSC license fees. CME/SVR is easy to use, install, and if you are using RSC now, it is easily integrated into your present applications. CME/SVR, like its parent product Foundation TME, also allows you to connect your client and Intranet applications to Services without the use of RSC. Use TCP/IP, ADSP, and other direct and standard protocols.
- Design Translator
Host gateway product for forward engineering designs from FOUNDATION Vista or other products. Supports Tandem NSK host systems and creates applications components, including DDL and NonStop SQL components, from the design information. Also supported is reverse engineering to FOUNDATION Vista of host physical database structure information.
- Help Facility
This server facility manages the help database and services help requests from clients and terminals. Text and multimedia data objects are supported, providing help at many levels: function, form, field, errors, and more.
- Security Manager
This application security module provides security where operating system security leaves off. Allows administration of application users, logon, application access, form access, and provides API for field/data access. Includes extensions for password and data encryption, as well as forced password changes. Optional device security is available.
- Device Security Option
Terminal/workstation administration and security facility provides access control at the device level. Includes time of day and day of week access control.
- Code Table Manager
Automatically provides support of an unlimited number of application code tables. This management facility allows dynamic maintenance forms, API libraries for incorporation of function, directory service, and support of active and inactive codes.
- Generalized Editing Services (GES)
Transaction validation module, providing Meta data driven validation of transactions. Rich editing suite allows range checking, date validation, alpha and numeric fields, code value lookup, If-Then-Else type functions, and the ability to call external user coded routines for additional validation. Module removes coding requirements for validation from servers and substantially improves the application maintenance life cycle.
- Graphics Tool Box (GTB)
This host management facility allows storage and management of media and other data objects. GTB provides application servers the interface for desktop delivery, and includes provisions for security, version control, ownership, and other host/desktop functions.
- Transaction Management Environment (TME)
FOUNDATION TME was designed and built with the latest object-oriented concepts and tools in mind. TME allows companies to develop and deliver client based applications more quickly, reduces programmer and technical support required to deliver applications, and produces highly maintainable applications. Can be used in most GUI frameworks.
TME is a cross platform product: UNIX, Linux, Windows, Macintosh.
- Server Generation Facility
Supports client/server, batch, and traditional OLTP application services. Using supplied standards and server components to create an advanced server architecture, FOUNDATION allows business application servers to be generated quickly and easily. Improves quality of applications, reduces test time, and significantly reduces development time.
- Requestor Program Generation Facility
Supports OLTP generation of requestors (terminal based clients) that interface with network and host services. Uses supplied standards and program components to create a highly advanced architecture that is also compatible with future client/server components. FOUNDATION allows business application requestors to be generated quickly and easily. Improves quality of applications, reduces test time, and significantly reduces development time.
- Pathway Runtime Library
These Pathway extensions include improved formatting and validation of dates and numbers. They eliminate special coding requirements and provide flexible data entry of dates, times, and numeric data.
- Component Ware
These sub-components and routines are available individually. Functions range from date manipulation -- to encryption -- to currency conversion routines, and are applicable to virtually all applications.
- Methodology Reference
Methods and Procedures Reference Library provides naming standards, user interface guidelines, standard program architecture, project control methodology, and other critical application development and deployment disciplines. Invaluable for organizations that must develop on critical time lines and deliver high quality maintainable applications.
