FOUNDATION VISTA

FOUNDATION VISTA is the design workbench of Menlo's full life-cycle software development product line. VISTA offers a set of integrated tools available for on-line application analysis and design. Its automated structured-design methodologies improve design quality and programmer productivity.

FOUNDATION VISTA allows analysts to focus their talents on system design, rather than endless diagramming and documentation changes. Because the system automates the documentation and diagramming process, designers produce high-quality system documentation, data flow diagrams, database design (NonStop SQL/MP, Enscribe, Oracle, DB2, Sybase, and others), program structure definitions, and forms and screen designs in a fraction of the normal time.

To maximize productivity, FOUNDATION VISTA takes advantage of the power and flexibility of the Macintosh workstation.

FOUNDATION VISTA supports Yourdon, Gane-Sarson, Jackson, and other structured design methodologies. Components include diagrammers for data flows, program structure charts, and data entity relationships. The product also includes a screen and reports designer and a design compiler.

All modules are interfaced through a centralized, multi-user data dictionary. Dictionary information can be exported and used as the source for software generation. Dictionary access supports both the single workstation and a multi-user LAN environment.

Business Results Summary: FOUNDATION VISTA provides as much as a 500 percent productivity improvement in all phases of system building and a 300 percent gain in overall accuracy.

Other Requirements: Macintosh workstation with minimum 2-MB RAM
